British Ceramics

Dame Lucie Rie, who died in 1995 at the age of ninety-three, was one of the founders of the modern British ceramics movement, and is one of the most famous to have been shown at James Graham & Sons. Other noted ceramics artists presented here include Gordon Baldwin, Dorothy Feibelman, Vivienne Foley, Elizabeth Fritsch, Ian Godfrey, Peter Hayes, Jennifer Lee, Ursula Morley Price, Mary Rogers, Rupert Spira, Geoffrey Swindell, Angela Verdon, Tina Vlassopolus, and John Ward. These names are represented in major museum collections, and all have extended the aesthetic and technical possibilities of the medium. To present British ceramics as part of an ongoing program of contemporary art makes Graham distinctive, and we are the only American gallery specializing in this work.
