Biography
Shrady was a sculptor who was born in New York City in 1907. He studied at the
Art Students League, New York, in 1928, and in Paris in 1931, under Yasushi Tanaka. He
studied in Florence, Italy in 1934. His work is represented in the collections of the
Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, and in the Vatican, in Rome. Outstanding among
commissions awarded him were those for St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York and the FBI
Building in Washington D.C. He worked in both metal and bronze.
